17.10.2012 PGNiG SA’s gas sales grew in the three quarters of 2012 to 10.5 billion cubic metres.

Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA sold 10.5 billion cubic metres of gas in the first three quarters of 2012, compared with 10.2 billion cubic metres in the corresponding period of 2011. The volume of natural gas produced in Q1-Q3 2012 totalled 3.2 billion cubic metres and remained flat year on year.

The volume of gas sold in Q3 2012 was 2.5 billion cubic metres, similar to Q3 of the previous year. Production totalled 1 billion cubic metres, compared with 1.1 billion cubic metres in Q3 2011.

In the first three quarters of 2012, natural gas imports reached 7.9 billion cubic metres, against 8.1 billion cubic metres in the corresponding period of 2011. In Q3 2012, imports amounted to 2.1 billion cubic metres, having dropped by 100 million cubic metres year on year.

Crude sales grew from 343 thousand tonnes in Q1-Q3 2011 to 352 thousand tonnes in Q1-Q3 2012. In Q3 2012, the volume of crude sales increased year on year from 124 thousand tonnes to 129 thousand tonnes.

Crude production grew from 344 thousand tonnes in Q1-Q3 2011 to 353 thousand tonnes in Q1-Q3 2012. In Q3 2012, the volume of crude production rose year on year from 127 thousand tonnes to 130 thousand tonnes.

As at September 30th 2012, the high-methane gas underground storage facilities (Brzeźnica, Husów, Strachocina, Swarzów and Wierzchowice Underground Gas Storage Facilities, and Mogilno Underground Gas Storage Cavern Facility) contained approximately 1.8 billion cubic meters of gas, including mandatory stocks managed by the Minister of Economy, relative to 1.8 billion cubic metres in the corresponding period of the prior year. The figure does not include the volume managed by Operator Systemu Przesyłowego Gaz-System SA.

In Q3 2012, the volume of heat sales was 2.7 PJ, totalling 25.9 PJ for Q1-Q3 2012. The electricity sales volumes amounted to 0.4 TWh in Q3 2012 and 2.4 TWh in Q1-Q3 2012. The data for Q1-Q3 2012 and Q3 2012 are comparable with the data for the corresponding periods of 2011.

The data for Q3 2012 and Q1-Q3 2012 are estimates and may differ from the actual data to be disclosed on November 12th 2012, when the final results for Q3 are published.
