01.09.2016 PGNiG with strategic contract for gas supplies to PGE Group

On August 30th 2016, Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA and PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna SA, companies of the PGE Group, executed gas sale contracts with an estimated value of PLN 2bn.

On August 30th 2016, Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA and PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna SA, companies of the PGE Group, executed gas sale contracts with an estimated value of PLN 2bn.

The contracts are effective until October 1st 2019, with an option to extend them until January 1st 2023. The gas will be transported to the PGE Group’s Lublin-Wrotków and Rzeszów CHP Plants, and the total volume of supplies may reach about 2.2bn m3.

These are further arm’s-length contracts concluded between the Company and a major industrial customer.

“The PGE Group, a leader of the power sector in Poland, highly values the stability of feedstock supplies secured by contracts with PGNiG. With the negotiated agreements for competitive gas supplies, we in turn will be able to offer our customers secure electricity and heat supplies on favourable terms,” said Bolesław Jankowski, Vice President of the Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna for Trade.

The contracts were signed under the Framework Agreement dated October 8th 2015, which also provides for the possibility of concluding additional contracts for further volumes.
