PGNiG Group: solid performance despite market challenges

After the nine months to September 30th 2021, the PGNiG Group posted nearly PLN 37.5bn in revenue, around PLN 7.4bn in EBITDA and PLN 3.1bn in net profit. The volume of gas sold was in excess of 24 bcm, a year-on-year increase of 8%.

PGNiG Group promotes development of Polish biomethane sector

On Tuesday, November 23rd 2021, Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo signed the Agreement on cooperation in developing a biogas and biomethane sector. Several dozen representatives of the PGNiG Group participated in the work on the project, which was initiated by the Ministry of Climate and Environment and the Government Representative for Renewable Energy.

German authority confirms PGNiG’s position: NS2 AG cannot serve as a transmission system operator

The Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has announced the suspension of the certification procedure for Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline operator. The reason for the suspension is that Nord Stream 2 AG at the current stage of the procedure does not meet the criteria for an independent transmission system operator, specifically the condition that operator must be organised in a legal form under German law.

PGNiG submits Plan for Development and Operation of the Tommeliten Alpha field

PGNiG Upstream Norway, together with its licence partners, has applied for approval of plan for development and operation of the Tommeliten Alpha field in the North Sea. The production start-up is scheduled for 2024. In the peak period Tommeliten Alpha should increase company’s hydrocarbon output by 0.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.

PGNiG: Ærfugl field production at full capacity

PGNiG Upstream Norway, together with its partners, launched another two wells on the Ærfugl field in the Norwegian Sea. Thanks to the completion of the investment, the Ærfugl reservoir will contribute approx. 0.57 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year to the Company’s production volume.

PGNiG: Discovery of light oil in the Norwegian Sea

PGNiG Upstream Norway and its licence partners successfully completed a wildcat exploration well on the Egyptian Vulture prospect in the Norwegian Sea. The discovered reservoir may contain as much as 63 million barrels of crude oil.

PGNiG Group to supply gas to Moldova

PGNiG Supply & Trading in cooperation with the American-Ukrainian ERU Group won a tender for natural gas supplies to Republic of Moldova. This will be the first ever gas supply to that country from a non-Russian source.

PGNiG committed to developing Poland’s hydrogen economy

Polish Oil & Gas Company has joined the Sectoral agreement for the development of a hydrogen economy in Poland, coordinated by the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment. The document implements the provisions of the Letter of intent to establish a partnership for building a hydrogen economy and to enter into a sectoral hydrogen agreement signed in July 2020.

The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur, BNetzA) has granted Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA and its German subsidiary - PGNiG Supply & Trading GmbH participation in the certification proceedings for Nord Stream 2.

PGNiG will purchase more natural gas from Venture Global LNG

PGNiG (Polish Oil and Gas Company) signed amendments to agreements with American companies Venture Global Calcasieu Pass, LLC and Venture Global Plaquemines, LLC to purchase another 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas for 20 years. As a result, the volume of LNG contracted from Venture Global LNG by PGNiG will increase up to 5,5 MTPA, which equals approximately 7.4 bcm following regasification.
