PGNiG: Gazprom’s complaint rejected by Swedish Court

The Svea Court of Appeal in Stockholm rejected Gazprom’s complaint to set aside the partial award of the Arbitral Tribunal concerning the dispute over the pricing terms under the Yamal contract. The ruling is final.

PGNiG’s new gas discovery in Wielkopolska

Working in partnership with ORLEN Upstream, Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) has successfully completed drilling of the Grodzewo-1 well in the municipality of Śrem. Based on the Company’s estimates, the well could produce up to 20 mcm of natural gas annually.

PGNiG Group posts record high results for nine months to September 30th 2020

In the nine months to September 30th 2020, the PGNiG Group’s EBITDA and EBIT came in at nearly PLN 10.7bn and more than PLN 8.24bn, respectively. Despite low prices of oil and gas and the global economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the PGNiG Group once again delivered robust financial performance and strong operating results.

PGNiG Group boosts its output on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

PGNiG Upstream Norway and its licence partners have brought on stream another three wells in the Ærfugl field. This will enable the company to increase its total output of natural gas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf to almost 1 bcm in 2021.

PGNiG makes large gas discovery in Norway

The drilling of an exploration well on the Warka prospect in licence PL1009 in the Norwegian Sea has been successfully completed. The well is located in an area where PGNiG Upstream Norway has conducted hydrocarbon exploration and production operations for many years now. Preliminary estimates put the recoverable resources of the new discovery at between 8 bcm and 30 bcm of natural gas and condensate.

PGNiG and LOTOS: first LNG bunkering in Szczecin

On November 5th 2020, the first bunkering of a ship with liquefied natural gas (LNG) took place at a port supervised by the Maritime Authority of Szczecin. With the bunkering operation, PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny and LOTOS Asfalt have expanded the scope of their cooperation, which helps to strengthen the role of Polish ports and promotes LNG fuel in the Baltic Sea.

The PGNiG Group contracted ships for transporting US LNG

Chartered gas carriers will be used for trading liquefied natural gas contracted by PGNiG with American suppliers. Two modern tankers will enter service in 2023. Norwegian Knutsen OAS Shipping selected in the tender will be responsible for the delivery and servicing of vessels.

PGNiG Group to buy Danish natural gas from Ørsted

PGNiG Supply & Trading GmbH (PST), the international trading arm of the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG), and Ørsted Salg & Service A/S (Ørsted), a subsidiary of Ørsted A/S, have signed a multi-year contract for the sale and purchase of natural gas. The agreement covers a total volume of approx. 70 TWh (6.4 bcm) to be supplied between January 01st 2023 and October 01st 2028.

PGNiG Group and Aker BP further expand their cooperation

PGNiG Supply & Trading GmbH (PST), the international trading arm of the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG), and Aker BP ASA have signed a contract for the sales and purchase of natural gas produced on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The supply of gas has started in October, 2020.

UOKiK President’s decision confirms that Nord Stream 2 harms competition in gas market

Today’s decision of the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) to impose a fine of PLN 29 billion on Gazprom and a total of PLN 234 million on the business partners engaged in Nord Stream 2 project confirms that the participants acted not only to the detriment of competition in the gas market, but also circumvented the competition laws concerning mergers. PGNiG agrees with the position of the UOKiK President.

ERU in partnership with PGNiG to supply gas to Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine

Under a contract with Energy Resources of Ukraine (ERU), PGNiG will for the first time supply natural gas to Gas TSO of Ukraine. To date, PGNiG has already exported more than 3 bcm of natural gas to Ukraine.

PGNiG to supply more gas for KGHM

Polish Oil and gas Company (PGNiG) will increase supplies of natural gas to KGHM Polska Miedź SA. Both companies have signed an additional individual contract under their existing framework agreement.
