28.10.2020 Lerta to assist PGNiG in energy efficiency improvement efforts
The two companies will jointly develop a concept for a platform for system-based energy management and monitoring in the office buildings of PGNiG’s headquarters in Warsaw. The project is yet another example of close business relationships forged by PGNiG with young technology companies.
The concept development is the first phase of the Building Management Platform (BMP) project. PGNiG wants to design and implement system-based solutions supported by IT tools to improve the efficiency of heat, electricity and cooling management in its office facilities. The Building Management Platform project is an integral part of the PGNiG Group Energy Efficiency Improvement Programme.
‘The PGNiG Group Energy Efficiency Improvement Programme is our response to the growing need for rational and sustainable use of energy and energy resources and for protecting the climate and natural resources,’ noted Arkadiusz Sekściński, Vice President of the PGNiG Management Board, Development. ‘We also aim to expand and diversify our range of energy efficiency products for business and household customers,” he added.
PGNiG SA has a certified Energy Management System in place at its office and process facilities. The first outcomes of the system’s implementation include energy reviews, which demonstrated the usefulness of monitoring and managing utilities consumption in our office buildings, which prompted PGNiG to launch the BMP project. Lerta experts will design a coherent energy management model for PGNiG’s office buildings. They are also to identify projects aimed at improving energy efficiency of the entire office complex at ul. M. Kasprzaka in Warsaw as they progress in their work.
‘An exciting new chapter in our business relationship with PGNiG is opening for us,’ said Borys Tomala, President of the Lerta Management Board. ‘We are delighted that our proposal is so highly rated and that we have been given the opportunity to develop an energy management concept with a market leader ambitiously responding to energy efficiency improvement needs relying on latest technology,’ he added.
Lerta, a Poznań-based company specialising in advanced power solutions, took part in the acceleration programme for young companies implemented in 2018 by PGNiG and MIT Enterprise Forum Poland when it was still a startup. Now it has returned to PGNiG with a new, mature business offer, beating other participants in the procurement procedure.
