02.06.2009 Contract for natural gas deliveries to Poland signed

On 1 June 2009, PGNiG SA and OOO Gazprom Export signed a contract for natural gas deliveries to Poland. The contract will last until 30 September 2009 and involves the delivery of 1,024 bcm of natural gas. This means that PGNiG SA will be able to fill its underground gas storage facilities in anticipation for the fall/winter season, which would otherwise be impossible due to RosUkrEnergo's failure to perform under a contract.

The natural gas will be delivered via cross-border points situated on the Polish-Ukrainian and Polish-Byelorussian borders.

The contract value will depend on oil product prices on the world markets. According to the estimates, at the current oil product prices, PGNiG SA will pay approx. USD 300m (approx. PLN 950m) for the delivered natural gas.
