24.05.2016 First LNG deliveries to PGNiG set for June

As early as in June, PGNiG will receive LNG deliveries from Qatar and Norway. The first cargo of LNG under the Qatar contract is expected at the Świnoujście Terminal on June 17th 2016. Another delivery of LNG, purchased under a spot contract with Statoil, is scheduled for June 25th 2016.

On Monday, May 23rd, the PGNiG Group completed the analysis of bids on the spot market for LNG cargoes to be delivered to Świnoujście in June and July 2016. The Group decided to purchase the first LNG cargo from Statoil, which submitted the best bid. Approximately 140 thousand tonnes of LNG (84 mcm of grid gas) will be transported from the Norwegian port of Snohvit on a ship “Arctic Princess”, which is due to arrive in the port of Świnoujście on June 25th 2016.

At the same time, given the earlier commencement of services by the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście, PGNiG decided to accelerate LNG deliveries to Świnoujście under the long-term contract with Qatargas.

Accordingly, on June 17th 2016, Qatargas will deliver to Świnoujście an LNG cargo in performance of the long-term contract of 2009 (Al-Neuman ship, 206 thousand tonnes of LNG, i.e. the equivalent of 124 mcm of grid gas).

Another LNG supply will be delivered to PGNiG under the contract with Qatargas in mid-July 2016, as scheduled in the annual plan for deliveries, agreed between PGNiG and Qatargas.
