PGNiG intensifies production of natural gas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

PGNiG Upstream Norway plans to produce additional volume of approximately 0.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas this year. This will allow the company's total production to reach 3 bcm of gas in 2022. Following the launch of the Baltic Pipe pipeline, the hydrocarbons  produced by the PGNiG Group in Norway will be delivered to Poland.

First delivery of liquefied natural gas for PGNiG to Klaipėda LNG terminal

The PGNiG Group received its first cargo of liquefied natural gas to be delivered to the LNG terminal in Klaipėda, Lithuania. The delivery of almost 65,000 tonnes of LNG from the US is a step towards further integration of gas markets in this part of Europe and strengthening of their energy security.

Halt of natural gas supplies under the Yamal contract

Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA announces that Gazprom has halted all natural gas supplies under the Yamal contract. The development has no impact on current deliveries to PGNiG’s customers, who are receiving the fuel according to their demand.

PGNiG and GAZ-SYSTEM: information on gas supplies under Yamal contract

PGNiG has received a letter from Gazprom announcing a complete halt of supplies under the Yamal contract. PGNiG and GAZ-SYSTEM announce that at present all supplies to customers are being made in accordance with their demand. The companies are monitoring the situation and are prepared for different scenarios.

PGNiG appeals against EU Court’s judgment concerning Gazprom’s commitments

Polish Oil and Gas Company has filed an appeal against the judgment of the General Court of the EU of February 2nd 2022, which dismissed the Company’s complaint against the European Commission’s decision of 2018 accepting Gazprom’s proposed commitments to discontinue abusive market behaviour in EU countries.

PGNiG GROUP: Successful 2021 thanks to investments in Group’s own production assets

In 2021, the PGNiG Group generated almost PLN 70bn in revenue, with PLN 15.6bn in EBITDA and PLN 6.0bn in net earnings. Compared with 2020, the Group recorded improvements across most of its key financial and operating metrics, driven largely by upstream operations.

The Court of Appeal in Stockholm dismissed Gazprom’s petition to set aside the award of the Arbitral Tribunal concerning the price for gas supplied under the Yamal contract, issued in favour of PGNiG.

PGNiG wins case concerning Gazprom’s abusive market behaviour

The General Court of the European Union has agreed with PGNiG and annulled the decision of the European Commission rejecting the Polish company’s complaint against Gazprom’s anticompetitive practices. The EC will need to reconsider the case.

Another four licenses for PGNiG in Norway

Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) has obtained four new license areas for development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Over 30 oil companies from all over the world competed for them. PGNiG will act as the operator in case of three of the four newly acquired licenses. As a result, the number of licenses in Norway, in which the PGNiG Group holds shares, will increase to 62.

150th delivery of liquefied natural gas for PGNiG

The cargo that originated in the USA arrived at the terminal in Świnoujście on January 18 this year. From the beginning of the operation of the gas terminal, Polish Oil and gas Company (PGNiG) has already imported about 17 bcm of naural gas to Poland this way. In 2021, the company's LNG imports amounted to 3.94 bcm after regasification and increased from 3.76 bcm in 2020.

Arbitration between Gazprom and PGNiG concerning the contract price under the Yamal Contract

On 14 January 2022, Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo received a notice of arbitration before the ad hoc Arbitral Tribunal in Stockholm from the counsel of PAO Gazprom and OOO Gazprom Export of arbitration. The notice includes a request for the revision of the contract price for natural gas supplied by Gazprom based on the Yamal Contract. Gazprom expects a retroactive increase of the contract price based on Gazprom’s revision requests of 8 December 2017 and 9 November 2020.
