The company was established in 2007 and through the series of successful investments and acquisitions it grew to become recognized player on NCS. PGNiG Upstream Norway (PUN) was ranked in top ten largest hydrocarbon producer on the NCS in 2023.

Over the last couple of years, we have achieved significant growth in our business. In 2021 PUN acquired and merged with INEOS E&P Norge AS, resulting in PUN's access to considerable gas volumes for the Baltic Pipe. In 2022 PUN merged with LOTOS Exploration and Production Norge, another upstream company of the ORLEN Group operating on the NCS. This was followed by acquisition of KUFPEC Norge, which was closed in early 2024.

In December 2023 PGNiG Upstream Norway signed an agreement with Horisont Energi AS to acquire a 50% interest in the CO2 exploration licence Polaris in the Barents Sea. The transaction marks a significant step in advancing ORLEN Group’s emerging business line focused on the management of industrial CO2 emissions.

Currently the company employs over 100 experienced professionals from all around the globe.
