06.04.2016 Changes in PGNiG Upstream International AS

Marek Woszczyk has been appointed the new CEO of PGNiG Upstream International AS.

PGNiG Upstream International AS of Sandnes, Norway, PGNiG SA’s subsidiary, holds interests in exploratory and production licences in the North Sea, Norwegian Sea and Barents Sea. Jointly with partners, the company has been developing the Snadd field and producing hydrocarbons from the Skarv (Skarv project), Morvin, Vilje and Vale fields.

Marek Woszczyk is a graduate of the Faculty of Navigation of Gdynia Maritime University. He also completed an MBA programme at the Kozminski University in Warsaw and a post-graduate course at the National School of Public Administration in Warsaw. In 1998−2013, he worked at the Energy Regulatory Office, serving as Head in the Licences Department, Deputy Director of the Central Branch, Vice President, acting President, and from 2011 to 2013 as President of the Office. From December 2013 to March 2016, he was President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A. Mr Woszczyk has also been a member of many domestic and international organisations involved with the fuels and energy markets, and he has received numerous awards and distinctions, including a Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
