The recruitment process initiated by the Supervisory Board will be held to fill the positions of President of the Management Board, Vice Presidents of the Management Board, and Members of the Management Board. The detailed conditions to be met be the candidates will be published by the Supervisory Board on the orlen.pl website on 14 February 2024.

As a result of the decisions made by the ORLEN Supervisory Board, as of 7 February 2024 the composition of the Management Board will be as follows:

Witold Literacki, acting President of the Management Board,

Kazimierz Mordaszewski, Member of the Supervisory Board delegated to temporarily perform the duties of Member of the Management Board,

Tomasz Sójka, Member of the Supervisory Board delegated to temporarily perform the duties of Member of the Management Board,

Józef Węgrecki, Member of the Management Board,

Tomasz Zieliński, Member of the Supervisory Board delegated to temporarily perform the duties of Member of the Management Board.

Earlier, the Supervisory Board removed Adam Burak, Krzysztof Nowicki, Robert Perkowski, Piotr Sabat, and Iwona Waksmundzka-Olejniczak from the ORLEN Management Board.

Witold Literacki graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia in 1994. In 2006, he completed an MBA programme at the Lublin School of Business run in cooperation with the University of Central Lancashire, UK. Witold Literacki is an expert in finance and taxes. For many years, his career has been closely linked to the fuel and energy industry. He has gained managerial experience in both foreign and Polish companies, including PKN ORLEN.

From 2022 to 2023, he served as Chief Financial Officer at PERN SA,  following his role as Chief Financial Officer at Warszawskie Zakłady Mechaniczne PZL- WZM w Warszawie S.A. from 2020 to 2022. Before that, he led the Tax Office at PKN ORLEN SA from 2008 to 2020, and served as Tax Manager at RWS Stoen SA from 2007 to 2008. His career also included the role of Senior Tax Control Manager at Carrefour Polska Sp. z o.o. from 1999 to 2007,  and a consulting position at Arthur Andersen Sp. z o.o. from 1997 to 1999.  From 1991 to 1997, he worked as an inspector at the Tax Inspection Department of the Zabrze Tax Office.

Kazimierz Mordaszewski

Kazimierz Mordaszewski is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He also completed studies at the Catholic University of Lublin.

In 1980s, he was active in the Independent Students' Union and the Union of Democratic Youth. He continued his activities in the democratic opposition in communist Poland.

He acquired professional experience as a trainee judge, and later as a trainee legal counsel with the Team of Legal Counsels. Subsequently, he served  as an academic teacher at the University of Warsaw’s Faculty of Law Branch in Białystok. In 1989, he obtained a licence to practise as a legal counsel.

In 1990, he actively participated in the process of creating new state security structures, assuming the role of office head at the Office of State Security.

From 1997 to 2001, he served as Charge d'affaires at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of Poland in the UAE, concurrently being accredited to the State of Qatar. After returning to Poland, in 2002 he commenced his legal practice at KMMG Mordaszewski & Gliński, a partnership of attorneys and legal counsels.

In 2006, he joined the Internal Security Agency, where he headed the Legal Office until 2012, and from 2012 to 2015 served as Deputy Head of the Agency.

Kazimierz Mordaszewski was also a member of the Supervisory Board of PHZ Cenzin Sp. z o.o., and, from 2010 to 2014,  member of the Board of the National Centre for Research and Development.

Currently, he is a department head at the Polish Ministry of State Assets.

Tomasz Sójka

Professor of legal sciences, working at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and an attorney-at-law. Tomasz Sójka specialises in corporate, capital market and new technology laws. His academic achievements include more than a hundred publications in those fields. He is an author of four monographs on commercial law and the editor and co-author of a leading commentary on capital market law. He has also been actively involved in the legislative processes for numerous economic laws. For many years, he served as a member of the European Corporate Governance Institute in Brussels. He was also a member of the Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, where he participated in the development of Best Practice for WSE-Listed Companies. Additionally, he held the position of managing partner at a prominent Polish law firm for 15 years. As part of his legal practice, he was involved in many capital market transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. He also advised on compliance with disclosure and corporate governance requirements. His legal advisory services primarily focused on public companies, in particular from the energy and financial sectors. He has participated in numerous court disputes and arbitration proceedings concerning shareholder conflicts in major joint-stock and limited-liability companies, including as an arbitrator. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań. He has held fellowships from Oxford University, De Paul University in Chicago, the T.M.C. Asser Institute in the Hague, and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg.

Tomasz Zieliński

An expert in the chemical sector, with over 20 years of experience in executive and managerial roles as well as work in scientific and academic institutions. His professional expertise has been built at key companies of the chemical, refining and petrochemical sectors in Poland and other Central European countries (including  Orlen S.A., Anwil S.A., Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne Police, Orlen Unipetrol a.s, Spolana s.r.o.), in positions relating to strategic and business consulting, and at the Warsaw University of Technology. For more than ten years, he has represented the interests of the Polish chemical industry at home and abroad, and has sat on the boards of many Polish and international business and industry organisations.

Since 2016, he has been a member of the National Association Board (NAB) of the European Chemical Industry Council in Brussels (CEFIC), where he represents the interests of seven countries in the Central Europe Cluster (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia). He has also served on the Management Board and Steering Committee of the European Chemical Employers Group in Brussels (ECEG) for nearly ten years. He is a member of the Board of the Chemistry Committee at the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as member of the the Council and the Committee on Climate and Energy Policy at the National Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he sits on the Boards of the the Łukasiewicz Network Industrial Chemistry Research Institute and New Chemical Syntheses Institute, and is a member of the Supervisory Boards of companies in Poland and abroad, economic councils of Polish technical universities, as well as programme boards, scientific boards and industry associations. Author of numerous scientific publications and conference presentations.

In 2003, he received a doctoral degree in technical sciences in the field of chemical technologies from the Ignacy Mościcki Industrial Chemistry Research Institute in Warsaw. He completed studies in Chemical Technologies at the Faculty of Construction, Mechanics and Petrochemicals at the Warsaw University of Technology’s Płock Branch, and Postgraduate Studies in Financial Management and Marketing at the same school. In addition, he holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the Lublin University of Technology programme. He also completed the Professional Development Program: Strategic Business Management at Harvard University Extension School, and the Strategies for Sustainability course at Stanford University.

Since June 2013, he has been Chairman of the Board of the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry, the most important institution representing the Polish  chemical industry at domestic and international forums.
