The gas-in-place resources of the field are estimated at approx. 1 billion cubic metres, however it will not be possible to provide any accurate estimates of the in-place and recoverable volumes, or future output from the field, until the production tests, scheduled to take several weeks, are completed. 

Another purpose of the tests is to confirm the well production rates, measure the reservoir pressure and confirm the gas quality.  The test results will be analysed until the year's end. 

The Komorze natural gas discovery was made at the beginning of August.  It is located in the Province of Poznań, County of Września, Municipality of Pyzdry.  The discovered deposit lies at the depth of approx. 3,500 metres, within Rotliegend sandstones. 

It contains natural gas with high nitrogen content.  Once produced, it will be fed into the nitrogen-rich gas network near Grodzisk Wielkopolski.

In the vicinity of the Komorze field, another discovery was made in 2011 (the Lisewo field).  Natural gas from the two fields will be developed in 2013.  A production site will be set up at the location, where raw gas will be processed into sales gas and prepared for transmission.

Interests in the project are held by PGNIG SA of Warsaw (51%) and FX Energy Poland Sp. z o.o. (49%). Work on the field is being carried out by the PGNiG Zielona Góra Branch.

Komorze 3K is another deep well drilled by PGNiG SA. In 2010, drilling work started on the Niebieszczany-1 exploration well near Sanok in the Carpathians, which was finished in 2011. Also in 2011, the Dukla-1 exploration well and the Kutno-2 well were spudded, the first one in the Province of Rzeszów and the other one - in the Province of Poznań.
