26.08.2011 PGNiG maintains its oil and gas production forecast

Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA maintains its forecast for natural gas production at 4.3 billion cubic metres in 2011, with crude oil production forecast slightly lowered to 460 thousand from the 480 thousand declared earlier. The oil and gas production forecasts for 2012 remain unchanged.

The adjustment of planned crude oil production in 2011 follows mainly from a temporary stoppage in collection by one of the customers of the gas obtained in the crude degassing process at the Dębno oil and gas production facility. Collection of this gas is the primary condition for steady operation of the facility and keeping the production of crude oil at a planned level. Further limitation of crude oil production followed as a result of an unplanned repair of the main crude oil storage tank at the Dębno oil and gas production facility, which prevented the feeding of crude oil into the pipeline and required production to be adjusted to the collection capabilities of those customers who receive crude oil by rail tankers.

Launch of production from the Skarv field, originally scheduled for August 2011, was postponed to the end 2011. As a result, the 2011 forecast for the production of oil and gas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf also needs to be updated. The change of the date of commencement of production followed as a result of tests carried out at the shipyard and additional work that needs to be performed on the FPSO unit, which has been already anchored at the Skarv field on the Norwegian Sea.

As soon as the Company receives confirmed information from BP Norge A/S (the Skarv field operator), it will publish updated forecasts regarding hydrocarbon production from the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Starting from 2012, annual production from the Skarv field is expected to reach approximately 0.4 million tonnes of crude oil and 0.4 billion cubic metres of natural gas. This will be the largest foreign production in the Company's history.

PGNiG SA holds a 12% interest in the Skarv field licence. Other interest holders are British Petroleum (24%), Statoil (36%) and E.ON Ruhrgas (28%).
