15.05.2014 PGNiG SA commences drilling of the Miłowo-1 borehole in Pomerania

Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA has begun to drill a vertical exploratory borehole, Miłowo-1, the purpose of which is to investigate the hydrocarbon potential of shale deposits.

The borehole is located in the administrative district of Przywidz, within the Kartuzy Szemud licence area. Its target depth is 3,800 metres, and the work is expected to continue for around two months. The drilling work will be performed by Exalo, a PGNiG Group company.

The Company is also working on the Tępcz-1 borehole located within the Wejherowo licence area.

So far, PGNiG SA has drilled 12 boreholes under its ‘shale licences'.
