26.11.2013 Trustee appointed at EuRoPol Gaz SA

On November 21st 2013, the District Court for the capital city of Warsaw decided to grant the request, filed in an application by PGNiG SA and GAS TRADING SA, to appoint a trustee to EuRoPol Gaz SA. Barrister Piotr Sadownik was appointed as the trustee. His main task will be to ensure that the vacancies on the company's Management Board are filled without delay.

The application to the court by PGNiG SA and GAS TRADING SA was lodged after two members of the Management Board of EuRoPol Gaz SA, who had been recommended by the Polish shareholders, resigned from their positions. As a result, the company was deprived of a body capable of representing it in dealings with third parties.

On November 8th 2013, the former President and Second Vice-President of the Management Board of EuRoPol Gaz SA tendered their resignations, and a previously convened meeting of the Supervisory Board and the General Meeting of EuRoPol Gaz failed to take place after the Russian party walked out. In order to fill the vacancies on the company's Management Board, PGNiG SA called for an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held on November 12th 2013. That meeting did not take place either, due to the absence of Gazprom representatives.
